Tell Me What's On Your Mind
A "call out" is when someone on one end of a hiking group needs to contact someone on the other end of the group.
This might happen when there is a particularly nasty obstacle in the trail. The leader will point it out and each hiker will “call out” to the one behind him so that all see it.
Another example might be when someone in the back is injured and unable to continue. Each hiker will “call out” to the hiker in front of him until the leading hiker is aware of the situation so the entire group stays together.
My point? I am on one end of this website. You are on the other. Give me a “call out.”
